Seriously - rewatching this show: hey, showrunners, ARE YOU SURE that Rohan and Deirdre were endgame?
Because this whooooooole thing is just a parade of Angus and Deirdre being suspiciously close and endlessly bantering and overtly flirting and passing that off like "tee hee no the flirting is just a joke" followed by being uncharacteristically sincere about helping each other

If someone started this show and was told "hey angus and deirdre end up together by the end," everyone would go, "Oh wow, they're not even being subtle about it lol there's a lot going on"
But to watch it and be like, "psych it's actually deirdre and rohan" after that?

Re-rewatching some episodes
Episode 1 - Deirdre about Rohan: "Are you really going to trust this boy to go on such a quest?" (Rohan: D: i'm not a boy, i'm a man...)
Episode 6 - Deirdre about Angus: "Of all the men in Kells to go on this quest, you had to pick Angus?"

OH MY GOD youre so right, i dont think she ever calls angus a 'boy' unless its to tease him or going "boys..." *eyeroll* or *deep sigh* "my boys." With a slight smile. Angus on his own is always a 'man'
God she wants him so bad it makes her look stupid.
And both are rolling their eyes at their oblivious mutual boyfriend STILL NOT UNDERSTANDING WHATS GOING ON

This was actually the same episode she calls Angus a handsome fool (utterly unprompted), followed by Rohan going, "He's not that handsome," (👀 thought about it did you, rohan?), followed again by Maeve going, "No, no, he is :)" while she has him captured

#HOW WERE THE WRITERS EXPECTING TO PULL OFF ROHAN/DEIRDRE
#it was NEVER GONNA WORK WITHOUT ANGUS
#especially when rohan's 'he's not that handsome' line was DUBBED IN so it was FULLY INTENTIONAL
#rohan didn't say angus wasn't handsome at all#instead he's like 'yes i've noticed'. because everyone has #ivar is the only one who doesn't say it because the dude's just super polite so 🤷🏽♀️
#also 'don't tell him he's handsome or you'll spoil him 😤'
